We rent the 7.3 Powerstroke injector cup puller/installer for a $425 deposit. We charge $50 per month to rent the tool which will be deducted from your deposit once you return the tool. Rental includes a USPS return shipping label for our USA customers. Use of power tools can cause damage to these tools in which you will forfeit your deposit.
Unlike the other cup tools on the market the RRD design is engineered towards repeated use. RRD believes removing and installing the injector cups should be a surgical operation, not something requiring beating cups in with hammers and leaving brass filings from removing. This is why RRD designed their tools with tight clearances, and clean injector bores in mind.
RRD utilized the latest in metallurgical technology which allows the removal tool to thread into the damaged injector cup without creating any filings or chips to fall into your cylinders. Both the puller and installing tool use bridges that are quickly fastened to the injector mounting holes. This means you don't have to remove your rocker arms allowing for a faster overall job.
The install tool is really the break through since you don't have to hammer on it in tight spaces and hope your cup is seated. You simply use a socket and allow it to press the cup in. This allows for a completely seated cup every time, no guessing, no hammering, even on the back cylinders or e-series vans. To ensure the install tool doesn't deform your new cup, like some competitors tools, RRD machined it so that it engages both the full surface of the cup bottom as well as the top lip. RRD put an o-ring on it so you can strategically put your cup in the injector bore instead of dropping it in and hoping your sealant stays intact. In order to allow the cup to seat without turning in the head RRD engineered the install tool with a ball bearing so it remains stationary while you turn in the press.
All hardware has been coated for rust resistance as well as a rockwell hardness of over 62 to ensure a long life.
